These Terms of Service govern the use of the HeritageOS cloud management platform, visitor web applications, and physical audio guide triggers. By setting up an account or deploying HeritageOS services, your institution agrees to these terms.
HeritageOS provides isolated workspace accounts for participating museums, galleries, and cultural sites. Authorized account managers are responsible for:
HeritageOS supplies display plaque blueprints, unpowered trigger hardware (QR/NFC plaques), and powered audio trigger hardware. Participating institutions are responsible for physical installation, wall mounting, and regular surface cleaning on site.
The HeritageOS platform is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure designed for high availability and global accessibility. While the platform strives for continuous uptime, local cellular reception or visitor Wi-Fi availability at individual museum sites remains the responsibility of the venue or local network provider.
HeritageOS delivers audio guides without requiring visitors to create personal accounts or disclose personal information. All analytics reports generated for museum managers contain aggregated, anonymous visitor statistics in accordance with global data privacy regulations.
The HeritageOS software engine, user interfaces, branding, and management dashboard code remain the property of HeritageOS. Subscribing institutions retain 100% ownership and copyright of all artwork images, text scripts, audio recordings, and collection metadata uploaded to their account.
